Rumors are flying ever since it was revealed that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian got engaged. The newest allegations state that the celebrity couple will be getting a prenup before their upcoming wedding; however, it will be after the fact that Kanye gave Kim an engagement ring valued at a rumored $8 million.
According to the latest reports, Kanye isn’t looking to get sucked in by another gold digger. And that makes sense, considering that Kanye has a networth of $100 million, while Kim’s is about half that.
TMZ was the first to announce the prenup. Since then, numerous media outlets have reported on the upcoming legal contact. This includes the New York Daily News, who recently spoke to Raoul Felder.
Mr. Felder has managed a number of high-profile divorces, including Martin Scorsese and former mayor, Rudy Giuliani. During the interview, Raoul opened up about the prenup of Kimye:
“This is not the mother of all prenups, but it’s going to have to be pretty close. They both have careers that could become more valuable, and each one could claim the other one helped their career.”
The news of a prenup caught many by surprise, considering how gushy Kanye has been over Kim in the past. When he appeared on Kris Jenner’s failed talk show, he couldn’t help but talk about how much he loved Kim:
"I was in love with her before I even got to even talk to her. Of course being in the limelight you have to have a match or like, someone that's equally yoked and it's difficult...And when I would be on the phone with her, even at my lowest moment, she'd give me energy and remind me of who I was, and I needed that support at all times."
Kanye rewarded her support with an over-the-top proposal, fit for someone who is as lavish and fame-obsessed as Kim. The 33-year-old thought she was just celebrating her birthday when boarding Kanye’s aircraft.
But the rap legend had other plans in mind: flying her to a rented out football stadium, having a full orchestra play her favorite songs and, of course, giving her a ring that is valued at $8 mil.
