New York based chamber ensemble, DECODA, is gearing up for its winter/spring 2016 event, the Tertulia Chamber Music concert series. The ACJW fellowship program from Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School and Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute has been touted as one of the brightest outlets for young talent.
A press release explains just what the Tertulia Chamber Music series is, detailing:
“Tertulia is not your typical classical music presenter. Established in 2011 by Artistic Director Julia Villagra, Tertulia is a chamber music series that is designed to attract new and experienced audiences alike, or really, anyone who loves incredible food and music. Part concert, part dinner party Tertulia presents world-class chamber music concerts in critically acclaimed restaurants in and around New York City. The format and program is designed to enhance the social and culinary experience, but at all Tertulias, the music is paramount.”
Carnegie Hall Artistic Director Clive Gillinson describes the DECODA program, saying:
“Our appointment of Decoda as the first ever Affiliate Ensemble of Carnegie Hall recognizes the quality of its work, which reflects so many of the values held by Carnegie Hall, including exceptional performances and a strong commitment to education and community programs. Having worked with these musicians since their time as Ensemble ACJW fellows, it’s been inspiring for all of us to watch what they continue to accomplish as an independent ensemble and as great ambassadors for music.”
The DECODA Tertulia Chamber Music series kicks off on February 23, 7 PM. For ticket information and more check out the official website, www.tertulianyc.org.
