It’s official, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are engaged. After an over-the-top proposal by Yeezus and a massive engagement ring, will Kim be able to walk away from the fame of Keeping Up with the Kardashians? This latest announcement comes after it was revealed that the couple may have a destination wedding.
Kanye really knows how to throw a party. This is especially true if it’s for his girlfriend-turned-babymomma-turned-fiance. Kim thought she was just celebrating her 33rd birthday, when Kanye blindfolded her and flew Kim to a rented out football stadium, where he surprised her with friends, family and a full orchestra.
Of course, that wasn’t the only surprise Kanye had up his sleeves. The rap legend got on one knee and proposed to the 33-year-old socialite. She said yes (obvs) and accepted his engagement ring, which has an estimated value of nearly $8 million.
Kanye could be getting something out of the engagement, himself. Prior to the wedding announcement, Closer ran an article that claimed he was demanding that Kim leave her hit E! show. According to the source:
"It sounds dramatic, but Kanye's told Kim he wants her to quit the show for the sake of their romance, and for the baby. He doesn't like how invasive the show is on everyone's personal lives and despite appearing on it for a few brief scenes, he has said he won't make another cameo. He told her that, if she walks away from reality, he'll marry her tomorrow."
