The city of San Francisco is very unhappy with Justin Bieber and may take him to court. Though being in a courtroom is someplace the singer has become all to familiar with in recent years, this time Bieber is innocent.A half-baked promo campaign to promote the singer's new album Purpose was instead at the center of the controversy.
In November and December, graffiti tags starting popping up in several cities. The tags commonly read ; Justin Bieber Purpose Nov 13. San Francisco, with its high property values and beautiful scenery, was very hard hit with a lot of graffiti and both the citizens and Parks Department are very angry and want help from Bieber and his label to clean it up.In fact the city is threatening the use of any legal means necessary if they don't get help with their mess.
What is the big deal you ask ? San Francisco spends over 20 million dollars a year cleaning up graffiti , apparently residents of the city had a huge problem with the commercialization of sidewalks in their city.According to Citylab, the San Francisco Public Works Director Mohammed Muru issued a statement which said "Our sidewalks are not canvasses for corporate advertising, and we have made that clear.Yet these guerilla marketers believe they are above the law when it comes to blighting our city. The definition of graffiti is tagging someone else's property without permission, and they certainly did not have our permission to do this to our sidewalks".
Justin Bieber released his album Purpose on November 13. According to Billboard, it sold 522,00 in physical copies during it's first week and debuted at number 1.The songs "What do You Mean?" and "Sorry" have been noteable singles off the record. 2015 was a comeback year for Justin Bieber, He delivered the big album. Now, he just needs smarter promotional people.
