There is a lot of talk on Twitter about a possible High School Musical reunion. Cast member Monique Coleman first suggested the get together via Twitter. Since then, the vast majority of the main cast has agreed to reunite, including Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel and Vanessa Hudgens. Zac Efron is the only hold out at the moment.
Actress Monique Coleman, who played support character Taylor McKessie in the series, first threw out the idea, tweeting:
"How cool would it be if the cast of #HSM came together for a reunion? Like real HS. It's almost been 5 years! Tell me it thoughts."
The post was met with a warm reception from fans and cast, with many of Coleman's former classmates responding.
Corbin Bleu responded by tweeting:
"@gimmemotalk Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat! Hell yeah I'm in!"
Series "villains" Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Gabreel have both confirmed there intrest. Tisdale responded to the request, by tweeting:
"I'm SO in @gimmemotalk! #reunion"
Grabeel followed by adding:
"You bet @gimmemotalk, I'm in. #reunion"
Most recently, series star Vanessa Hudgens accepted her invite, saying:
"Yup @gimmemotalk! I'm in :). #reunion"
Zac Efron has yet to respond. Vanessa Hudgens recently spoke out against drug use in the wake of Efron's rehab revelation, telling Cosmo on Campus:
"I have never liked 'partying'. I love dancing, but that's as far as it goes. It's tough because a lot of clubs are everything I loathe, especially in LA.They're always very ego-filled and people get up to mischief. It's just not a pure environment. I stay away from [drugs] because I know it's smart to steer clear."
Instead, Hudgens has found more productive uses for her time:
"I got into acting young and I wasn't as fascinated with learning as I am now; the older I get, the more curious I become. I'd like to study film or photography one day."
However, there is no reason for Hudgens to reunite with Ashley Tisdale. The two have remained close throughout the years. Hudgens often goes to her relationship advice:
"Ashley always says she wants me to be more cautious...She thinks I'm too trusting. I think I'm fine the way I am, but she thinks I have a tendency to float around on a cloud, which I kind of do.She's quite protective – she always has my back. If you're my best friend, I'll trust you with my life. There's an assumption celebs only trust friends who are in the same industry, but it's not like that for me. If you click, that's all that matters....She comes to me for relationship advice more than I go to her, though. I try to figure stuff out by myself."
