'Avengers 2: Age of Ultron' Teaser Trailer Released, Transforms Iron Man into Villain Ultron

The Comic-Con teaser trailer for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron has finally been released to the general public. The clip features Iron Man's helmet being beaten down and turned into Ultron's face.

The new Avengers' film is starting production and James Spader is gearing up for his role as Ultron. The Emmy-winning actor recently told the The Inquirer:

"I have spoken to Joss Whedon about it. Just this weekend I went in for them to take very extensive photographs, head scans, body scans, and all kinds of things in preparation for figuring out how the hell I'm gonna fit in this Ultron character!"

Spader also spoke with the The Independent about his own connection with the comics:

"I'm not a planner...I like to try something different, to just see what happens...I think it'll be a lot of fun and it's incredibly nostalgic for me. When I was a kid my best friend had trunks of comics and I didn't have any so I used to love going for sleepovers at his house. Also I have three sons and two of them have a great interest in comics so they're excited I'm playing the role."

Spader might not have a plan, but Joss Whedon does. Whedon made a statement about the actor, after his casting was annouced:

"Spader was my first and only choice, he's got that hypnotic voice that can be eerily calm and compelling. But he's also very human and humorous. Ultron is not Hal, Spader can play all of the levels. He's the guy to break the Avengers into pieces."

Whedon also spoke about wanting Spader to add a little bit humanity to the killer robot:

"I knew right away what I wanted to do with him. He's always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he's got a bee in his bonnet. He's not a happy guy, which means he's an interesting guy. He's got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we'll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone [a new character, Scarlet Witch] who's a witch."

Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out on May 1, 2015.
