There has been a major update in the Jonas Brothers tour, which was recently canceled. According to the latest tabloid rumors, Joe Jonas may be using drugs. This comes as a major shock to tweens everywhere, as the band is known for their squeaky clean lifestyles. Of course, even Nick is departing from their uber christian background, as his promise ring has been removed, leading many to speculate that he is no longer a virgin.
The boys shocked the world when they announced that they would be canceling their major 2013 tour. At first, it seemed as though the allegations were just rumors. But then Jesse Derris, spokesman for the boy band, told PEOPLE that the boys were having some trouble. According to the representative:
“There is a deep rift within the band. There was a big a disagreement over their music direction."
Further confirmation came when the Jonas Brothers official Twitter account was canceled. The abrupt ending of their tour caused many media outlets to speculate.
Star, a popular US tabloid, is reporting that there is something more serious than creative differences to blame. According to the publication, Joe is battling drug addiction, quoting a source as saying:
“He’s been dealing with substance abuse issues for quite some time. The tour would have never survived with how Joe was behaving. His family have been begging him to seek help. At this point, Nick and Kevin don’t care what is going on with the band, they just want to see their brother healthy. They’ve had discussions with Joe about their fears for him and the importance of getting help.”
When asked for comment, a representative for Joe refused to comment. While no Jonas has addressed the rumors, he has been photographed with a well known addiction specialist.
