NBC Cancels 'Ironside' and 'Welcome to the Family,' Full Replacement Schedule Announced

NBC is cleaning house on its freshmen series. The network has given the axe to both the hour-long crime drama Ironside and the Thursday night comedy Welcome to the Family. A full replacement schedule has been announced.

The new NBC fall lineup is falling apart. The network has officially canceled two of its new series. Thursday night's Welcome to the Family, starring Mike O'Malley, will be joining CBS' We Are Men in sitcom purgatory. Meanwhile, the network's remake of Ironside, starring Blair Underwood has also meet it's fate. The wheelchair bound cop drama is a modern day remake of the 1967 drama of the same name.

It's not all bad news for NBC. The network has found success with it's new drama The Blacklist, starring Emmy winner James Spader, as well as the returning singing competition, The Voice. The Blacklist has already been renewed for a second season. NBC's NFL coverage has also boosted the network's ratings, and the upcoming winter Olympics is also expected to bring in similar viewers.
