Natixis Global Asset Management (NGAM), a world's leading asset managers, is presenting 2012 Berkle BeanTown Jazz Festival, scheduled for September 28-30.
The festival will open on September 28 with jazz pianists Geri Allen, Joanne Brackeen, and special guests. The closing night on September 30 will feature banjo master Bela Fleck and the Marcus Roberts trio.
"This landmark Boston event is an extraordinary and meaningful opportunity to hear free world-class concerts in a family-friendly environment," said John Hailer, president and CEO of NGAM- The Americas & Asia.
"Music inspires. It fosters creativity, discipline and commitment and that's a winning combination that few would dispute. To support the Berklee BeanTown Jazz festival is to help support an incredible environment where families from Boston's diverse neighborhoods can be introduced to top-notch artists who may serve as role models for the music world's future stars."
This year, the event will celebrate female jazz musicians and offer free performances by renowned women artists from each genre. The festival will also highlight performance by BeanTown artistic director Terri Lyne Carrington's Mosaic Project, featuring Geri Allen, Lizz Wright, Tia Fuller, Ingrid Jensen, Helen Sung, and Nir Felder.
Berklee College of Music is world's premier music school for contemporary music. It was the first college in the U.S. to teach jazz, and it incorporated from rock n' roll and hiphop to film music and video game music.
