The Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles are playing their biggest game of the year tonight, as the winner would hold the lead for the NFC East and a playoff spot. Winding down in the second quarter, the Redskins had a chance to extend their 16-10 lead. That is, until QB Kirk Cousins failed so hard and kneeled down instead of spiking the ball, effectively ending the half. Take a look below.

Well...
I...
What can ya say after watching that?
Little bit of context: the Redskins were driving following an Eagles punt. Cousins had a couple of completions that picked up big chunks of yards each time and got them all the way down the Eagles' 6-yard-line. Philly called a timeout, and then that ensued.
According to head coach Jay Gruden, it was supposed to be a fade to wide receiver Pierre Garcon. If it was complete, they'd obviously have a touchdown. If it was incomplete, they'd kick the field goal and take the two-score lead going into the half.
Instead, Cousins pulled off one of the dumbest plays by a quarterback in NFL history and ruined a golden opportunity.
No, Kirk. We don't like that. Nobody likes that.
You're an NFL quarterback, Mr. Cousins. Well, sort of, most weeks. But regardless, you're the starting signal caller for a team trying to make the playoffs. And I know you're not Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, but come on, man! It wasn't even like he had to rush to the line and make a split-second decision.
THEY JUST CALLED A TIMEOUT!
Never should he have been so flustered or clutter-brained that he could've done that by accident.
We'll find out after the game if Cousins wants to share what was going through his mind. Odds are, he won't be looking forward to that press conference, especially if they don't hold onto the lead.
