It's the battle you have all been waiting for--American Idol judge Keith Urban Vs Voice coach Blake Shelton. The two country music icons have been involved in a friendly rivalry for quite some time. Now the artists are being sized up in a hypothetical fist fight that has spawned some less-than-serious death threats.
During a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Keith Urban was goated into a fake feud with fellow country star and rival singing competition judge Blake Shelton. During the interview, the American Idol judge said he would have to hire someone to beat up the bigger-built Voice coach.
Round Two of the faux fight was kicked off when Shelton sat down with Access Hollywood. During his interview, Shelton responded to Urban's comments, saying:
“That guy better pack a lunch … you know why I am not afraid? Have you seen him perform? He really gets into it. I think he would get tangled up in his own hair...Like you can see Keith Urban if he got real mad and he was flailing around like he does? You know his hair would get in his face and mouth … he’d be doing all that stuff. You’d clear a good smack in there or I’d just walk away.”
For now, Shelton insists that the boys will have to play nice, seeing as how Urban's new record, Fuse, features a new duet with Blake's wife, Miranda Lambert , called "We Were Us."
Shelton also joked that it was his own jealously that started the fake feud in the first place.
“I’m insanely jealous and I’m going into a jealous rage over this stuff. And that’s probably why he wants to hire somebody to kill me.”
