'The Giver' Taylor Swift Talks Next Album and Winning Awards for What She Does in Bedroom

Taylor Swift is one of the hottest stars of the moment. Not only is she constantly winning awards for her seemingly endless string of hit songs, but the "Red" lipped starlet recently landed a role in the film, The Giver, without even having to audition. Now Swift is opening up about her next album and making a living from her bedroom.

Swift was recently honored by the Nashville Songwriters Association, receiving her sixth Songwriter/Artist of the Year Award. During her acceptance speech, Swift dropped a few hints about her new album:

"I think the goal for the next album is to continue to change, and never change in the same way twice. How do I write these figurative diary entries in ways that I’ve never written them before and to a sonic backdrop that I’ve never explored before? It’s my fifth album, which is crazy to think about, but I think what I’m noticing about it so far is it’s definitely taking a different turn than anything I’ve done before."

Swift recently spoke with the Associated Press, about how she views herself in regards to her pop star status:

"I see myself as kind of this girl who writes songs in her bedroom. You can kind of dress it up all you want and you can put together an amazing theatrical production, you can become a better performer as time goes by, and you can try to excite people, but I’m always going to be a girl who writes songs in her bedroom in my own personal perception of myself. And I think it’s important that I don’t necessarily think too hard about what everybody else’s perception of me is or else I’d just get completely lost in it. It’s just easier to think of myself that way."

She can play modest all that she wants, but Swift has come long way from singing songs into her hairbrush. The 23-year-old was recently cast in the upcoming film The Giver, sans an audition, based only on one of her concert performances. Swift told ABC News Radio about landing the role:

“Actually, the movie came about very unexpectedly. When I played my shows in L.A., I was unaware that people from this movie were in the audience, and I had a role offered to me the next week. I think my show tends to be very emotional and moody and they saw something that they needed in the role. So, I’m very honored and lucky to get to be a part of it, and we’ll see how it goes. Please wish me luck.”
