Daniel Radcliffe Reprising Role as Harry Potter in J.K. Rowling's 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them?'

Daniel Radcliffe, star of the Harry Potter film series, is all grown up now. The 24-year-old has been working hard to shed his child star image. He even shed his clothes in his new film Kill Your Darlings. However, Radcliffe has expressed some interest in returning to his wizarding roots by reprising his role in J.K Rowling's new film adapation of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Daniel Radcliffe has done a lot of hard work to separate himself from his Harry Potter origins. The former child star has transformed himself into a serious talent, both on and off screen. Now rumors have been circulating that he might reprise his role in the upcoming spin-off film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Radcliffe recently told The Hollywood Reporter that he was doubtfull that he would be involved, yet he did leave the door open:

"I don't think I'm going to be coming back. We can't be doing these characters when we're 40, so there has to be a line drawn. I never know what Jo [Rowling] is going to write, but at the moment I'm in the same position that everyone else is in - waiting to hear what information is coming out because I don't know anything about these new films."

Express is also reporting that the actor has expressed an interest in the movie:

"It's the version I'd be most interested in. I could be talked into it. I like the idea of an intertwining storyline."

Rowlings previously released a statement about the new film's place in the Wizarding World:

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, 70 years before Harry’s gets underway.”

Later, she added:

"It all started when Warner Bros. came to me with the suggestion of turning Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them into a film. I thought it was a fun idea, but the idea of seeing Newt Scamander, the supposed author of Fantastic Beasts, realized by another writer was difficult. Having lived for so long in my fictional universe, I feel very protective of it and I already knew a lot about Newt. As hard-core Harry Potter fans will know, I liked him so much that I even married his grandson, Rolf, to one of my favourite characters from the Harry Potter series, Luna Lovegood. As I considered Warners’ proposal, an idea took shape that I couldn’t dislodge. That is how I ended up pitching my own idea for a film to Warner Bros."
