Jennifer Lawrence might be romantically linked to her Hunger Games co-star Liam Hemsworth, but it was another heroic hunk that caught her attention a few years ago. Recently Jen revealed that Awesomes star and former Saturday Night Live Weekend Update anchor Seth Meyers was the object of her affections. Lawrence was even going to ask the funnyman out on a date before she learned he was engaged.
During a recent interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she used to have a crush on the host, recalling (via Huffington Post):
"Years ago, I did 'SNL.' You were working there, I don’t know what you did. I had a really big crush on you and so I had this whole plan, all week I was like, 'He's going to ask me out, he’s totally going to ask me out.'"
Meyers never got around to asking Lawrence so she tried to work up the nerve to as him, adding:
"Then later in the week I was like, 'I'm going to ask him out.' I had created the romance in my head because I’m delusional. And so I was like, 'OK. You know what? I’m doing it. I’m doing it!'"
There was good reason that Meyers didn’t ask the Hunger Games star out. He was in a relationship with his fiancee, now wife, Alexi Ashe.
