Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough have ended their short-lived romance. The Vampire Diaries starlet and the Dancing With the Stars pro have officially broken up. Now many fans are hoping that Dobrev and her TVD co-star, Ian Somerhalder, will be getting back together.
Dancing With the Stars star Derek Hough and The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev have called it quits, allegedly over travel. An unnamed source told Us Weekly, "The distance was too much to handle." TVD films in Atlanta while DWTS films in L.A.
Dobrev first met Hough through his sister Julianne. A second source adds:
"Julianne understands -- there are no hard feelings."
If distance really was the issue, then maybe Dobrev might find love a little closer to home--with her longtime ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder.
Dobrev and her on-screen love intrest, Ian Somerhalder, recently ended their three year relationship back in May. However, the Vampire Diaries co-stars have remained very close. Somerhalder's dog Nietzsche recently gave birth to puppies and Nina was present for the event. Somerhalder live tweeted the birth and responded to fans' excitement for the new arrival, by tweeting:
"You all are amazing! Good luck Nietzsche is trending on twitter!? Thats SO fricking cool! She will be stoked."
He later posted a picture of the eight new pups, commenting:
"Live from the whelping box In Atlanta! Panting, pushing, contractions -Wow.Make no mistake about it-Ladies rule...Women of every species blow my mind...Incredible what mamas go through! Love to you mamas-all over the world.Jeez,"
Although it's possible she may not be looking to rekindle her relationship with Somerhalder, Dobrev told Us Weekly back in August, "I'm just discovering different sides of me and growing, and then I'll figure out what I like in a man when I see it."
