Filming for Transformers 4: Age of Extinction is underway all over the globe. First ,director Michael Bay set off the "mother of all explosions" in Chicago, before rolling out to Washington State. Now the Autobots have made their way to China. A new video has been leaked of the newly-redesigned Optimus Prime and an unnamed semi. The mystery bot is rumored to be either Autobot Ultra Magnus or Decepticon Nemesis Prime.
One lucky fan got an up close look at not one but two Optimus Prime trucks, as well as another unnamed semi. The three trucks were filmed and put on YouTube under the user name Gil Jimenez.
The unnamed short-nosed, silver semi has many fans speculating that we may see Autobot Ultra Magnus appear in the film. Ultra Magnus, the would-be successor to the Prime legacy, previously appeared in the animated Transformers' film from the 1980s. However, Ultra Magnus is typically portrayed as either a blue or white semi, leaving many to believe that the darker colored vehicle is the evil Optimus Prime clone, Nemesis Prime.
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura first revealed the prime redesign telling Beijing News:
“I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the joining of the Dinobots will give the audience new excitement. In addition to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, the appearance of these classic roles changed, today the world’s coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including China’s vehicles, whether you are a car enthusiast, you will feast your eyes and be shocked by them.”
Last week, Hasbro released the first look at the new Optimus Prime action figure.
