In a relatively unexpected turn of events, Donald Trump is still coming to Jimmy Kimmel Live after all. Trump will make his appearance tonight following the presidential debate which took place on Tuesday. I say "unexpected," because ever since the GOP presidential candidate cancelled his visit to the show back in October, Kimmel has missed no opportunity to make fun of Donald Trump.
Trump was originally scheduled to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live back in October of this year, but cancelled at the very last minute saying there was a political event he had to attend and would not be able to make it to the show. When announcing the cancellation, NY Daily News quotes Kimmel telling his audience, "But don't worry, we're giving everyone in our audience a basketball dipped in cologne so you can fully experience what it would have been like if he was here," quotes NY Daily News.
Since then there have been many instances on his show when either Kimmel or his guest made fun of Trump. What follows are just a few of the most recent examples.
Sacha Baron Cohen made an appearance as Borat on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his upcoming movie The Brothers Grimsby, but while he was there the controversial comedian took a shot at the Republican presidential candidate. Using the Borat persona, Cohen accused himself of inventing and playing the part of a new character called Donald Trump. When Kimmel challenged the theory, Borat responded, "The only person who would ban Muslims is someone with a brain like a female chicken. It is clearly a parody of a rich American racist."
Earlier this month, ABC news reporter Barbara Walter's scored an exclusive interview with Trump. During the interview, the presidential candidate told Walters, "I'm the worst thing that ever happened to ISIS." Kimmel took his statement and ran with it. Not long after the interview aired, Kimmel had his crew go out to the streets to have random passers by fill in the blank to the following sentence: "Donald Trump is the the worst thing to happen to..." Most people responded, "America."
Kimmel also went to great lengths to have white stuff spew forth from the GOP candidate's mouth.
Get your mind out of the gutter! It's just snow. He arranged to have a giant cut out of Trump's face attached to a snow blower and then brought snow to Hollywood Boulevard just for this gag. Considering the consistently warm weather in that part of the world, getting snow there must have been a feat in and of itself.
After all of these little gags, you would almost expect presidential candidate Donald Trump to decide against coming to Jimmy Kimmel Live. He does however make it a habit of firing back at those who make fun of him. Maybe that is what Trump has planned for his visit to the show; a toe to toe face off with the man who keeps mocking him.
