Thor 2 is just three weeks away and a new clip is giving an extended look at the Dark World's new villain. In the newly released scene from the film, we see former Dr. Who star Christopher Eccleston's character Malekith waking up.
A brand new clip from Thor: The Dark World has just been released and it offers us a brand new look at the films main villain, Malekith the Accursed waking up from what we assume was a long sleep.
The films director, Alan Taylor, praised Eccleston for bringing comic book villain to life, telling Total Film :
"Finding a way to be a villain in these movies is a really tricky thing. Christopher has been very articulate and useful. There's a default position which is very easy, you cackle madly and laugh! I think we've done a lot of work to make Malekith a three-dimensional character who has an understandable back-story and a motive for what he's doing."
Tom Hiddleston, the actor who plays Loki, recently spoke with Red Carpet News TV about working with Eccleston:
“Christopher Eccleston is one of Britain’s greatest actors, he brings a degree of commitment, intelligence, conviction and complexity to everything he does. I think he really got his teeth into this thing [playing Malekith]. It’s hard to say anything without giving away too much. Christopher has enormous presence, which is very distinguishable on stage as well as film. It’s one of those things you can’t really define, you just can’t stop watching him when he’s on screen. I think he’ll be absolutely magnetic [in the movie]. Malekith has his own ambition. Whether or not Loki can coincide with or contradict, subvert or enhance that ambition remains to be seen.”
Thor: The Dark World comes to theaters everywhere on November 8. Check out the new clip and let us know what you think.
