Billy Ray Cyrus has new health update for his follow country star, Randy Travis. Cyrus, who filmed the pilot episode for 'Evil Inclinations' alongside Travis, is offering up prayers for co-star.
Randy Travis almost died this past summer after complications from a heart condition lead to a stroke. After undergoing both heart and brain surgery, the singer is thankfully on the road to recovery, although he's still not 100 percent. Actor/singer Billy Ray Cyrus, who appeared in the new television pilot, Evil Inclinations with Travis, updated Entertainment Tonight about his conditions:
"If you love Randy Travis, keep praying for Randy Travis."
Meanwhile, a Travis rep told ET, that he is “currently in Texas in physical therapy and doing great!”
Reportly, Travis was scheduled to return to his home this past Friday, October 11.
Travis just recently released his latest studio album titled, The Influence Vol 1: The Man I Am. The album of cover songs, also includes a touching original tribute to the late George Jones, titled "Tonight I'm Playing Possum."
The tribute track has Randy Travis singing about the country music legend:
"So find a drink or find a road, I'm 'bout to drop a needle on some ol' no show. You're gonna want an ashtray and a bottle. I'm going deep, I'm going long 'til I run that needle through every last song he ever sung, so pour 'em strong and smoke 'em if you got 'em. Tonight I'm playing Possum."
Travis' website, RandyTravis.com, cites his decision to release a cover record, saying:
“When I think of my musical heroes of yesteryear, or the younger stars of this year, I am reminded that it is true we learn from the ones ahead of us, and teach the ones that follow. They are the reason I chose to make this album.”
We here at Classicalite wish Randy Travis all the best in his recovery.
