Sia is quickly becoming one of the most popular artist on the radio today. With hit songs like “Elastic Heart,” “Big Girls Cry,” and “Chandelier,” the artist has dominated the pop charts. However, despite her enormous fame, few know what she looks like. When she is not using Kristen Wiig or Maddie Ziegler as a proxy, Sia usually covers her face with outrageous wigs. Now, Sia is opening up about why she hides from the spotlight, like a real life Hannah Montana.
Sia recently appeared on Ellen where the host asked the “Elastic Heart” singer why she hides her face in public (via Huffington Post):
"We're pals, so I have seen what your face looks like, I know what you look like. But whenever you perform, you do not like to show your face, and I don't think people understand why."
Sia then let the veil down about her wig, saying:
"Well, it's so that I can go to Target and buy a hose if I want to, and/or if I'm in need of a restroom and I can't find one, I could go by the side of the road and nobody would be following me with a camera trying to get 'the shot.'"
