There has been a new update in the divorce of Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy. Legendary talk show host Ellen recently offered the former Real Housewives of New York star some advice--to shut up about her divorce. Only then, a source claims, can Frankel overcome the low ratings and save her nearly canceled talk show.
Ellen is known for being America’s sweetheart, however, a new report claims that the powerful celebrity offered some pretty harsh advice. According to a source who spoke to Radar Online, Ellen told Bethenny to stop talking about her divorce:
“Ellen wants Bethenny to stop yakking about the divorce because there is a public perception that she’s to blame for the split. Jason is very sympathetic figure — a doting dad — and quite frankly, many of Bethenny’s viewers and fans don’t understand why she dumped him. Whenever Bethenny opines about how hard the divorce has been on her and bemoans that Jason wasn’t the love of her life, viewers turn the channel. This is one of the major factors contributing to Bethenny’s very weak ratings.”
Considering the frenzy her public divorce has caused, Frankel might be wise to listen to Ellen’s advice. It was revealed late last month, that her estranged husband was secretly recording Bethenny as well as her Skinny Girl staff.
According to the same gossip website, Jason is not going to take the divorce lying down. An insider close to the situation revealed:
"She makes all of these public statements that she hoped the divorce would be amicable, but then filed for sole custody of Bryn...How could it have remained amicable when Bethenny is doing that? Did she honestly believe Jason would just walk away from their daughter?" the source continued. "There is no way he would ever do that. If it means going to trial, Jason is willing to take his chance."
