There have been more updates in the movie cast of 50 Shades of Grey. Despite some fans who began sending Charlie Hunnam ladies underwear, Christian Grey has received more complaints, than bras.
EL James created a monster when she announced the casting decision for the film adaptation of her popular novel, Fifty Shades of Grey. After tweeting her choice of Charlie Hunnam to play Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson to play Anastasia Steele, social networks were lit up with hate and anger.
One fan told Classicalite:
“I've got a ton of frustration about these choices too so I'm going to condense this: Casting directors are complete idiots, moronic and totally ignorant to the physical descriptions of the main characters, which was laden throughout all three novels. Chace Crawford for Christian Grey's part. Leighton Meester or Olivia Palermo for Ana. Done. How the bloody hell was that so hard?”
Dakota, however, has received way more negative comments. A commenter posted their feelings on our last story, saying:
“Dakota needs to GO! She is not the petite, pretty, doe-eyed, dainty and innocent Ana in the books. She has super small eyes, too tall, boyish body (no assets!), elongated features and angular face that make her look really old for her age - paired with the fact that she smokes and has a past of drug and alcohol abuse...I'm sure all of that is what makes her look so worn and old and her teeth gross. She is not an attractive girl - she's very homely, and that's not Ana. They can dye her hair brown and give her extensions but she still won't even come close to the character in the books. Not to mention she hardly has anything credible or worthy to her name. Charlie is okay...he isn't anything more than just another hot guy to me (and I am a big SOA fan) and Christian is STRIKING. But at least he's good looking and a good actor. They could've done a lot worse, like that did for Ana.”
Of course, it’s not all hate. According to Daily Star, women have began leaving their undergarments on the actor’s front door. One of Hunnam’s neighbors told the publication:
“We’ve seen frilly knickers, bras and even stockings left at his door by some fans of the book as they try to get his attention. It has been very odd. I’ve never seen anything quite like it.”
