Tonight the cast and crew of Glee say goodbye to Cory Monteith. The actor who played Finn Hudson on the Fox musical comedy tragically passed away over the summer due to a overdose. Join the gang tonight as they say farewell to Finn.
In the third episode of it's fifth season, titled "The Quarterback," the show will say goodbye to Cory Monteith/Finn Hudson. Fans got a tear jerking taste of tonight's tribute when they aired clips from the episode set to Lea Michele's emotional rendition of Bob Dylan's "To Make You Fell My Love."
Show creator Ryan Murphy recently opened up The Wrap about the heart wrenching episode:
"Almost everything in that episode is from the first take of every performance, because the actors and the crew had a really hard time shooting it. I've never seen a crew where you can't continue shooting because they left the room sobbing. It was very hard, and I struggled even working on it, because you're seeing what they felt about not just Finn, but Cory. So I think it's amazing performances across the board, and everybody went into it with a lot of love."
Monteith's real life and on screen girlfriend Lea Michele is easily one of the those most deeply effected by his passing. Michele spoke about his death, dedicating her Teens Choice Award to his memory back in August:
"I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out there how much all of your love and support has meant to me over these very difficult past few weeks, For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love we're gonna get through this together. He was very special to me and also to the world. We were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart so whether you know him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of our hearts."
Say good bye to Finn Hudson tonight at 9 p.m.
