The all new Mega Millions lottery jackpot total has reached a whopping $31 million with an estimated cash value of $18 million.

Check out the story of one of the game's’ latest big money winners, as reported by the Mega Millions lottery website:

“Friday the 13th proved lucky again as a single ticket-holder in Ohio won the $202 million Mega Millions jackpot Friday night, matching all six numbers drawn –- the white balls 17, 18, 31, 35 and 59, plus the gold Mega Ball 9. The cash value of the jackpot is $122 million. The final jackpot numbers were slightly higher than the estimated figures. The last time a jackpot was won in Ohio was on March 12, 2013. Last year a Michigan player won a jackpot on Friday the 13th (June 13, 2014), one of four other Friday the 13th jackpot wins in Mega Millions history.

“In addition to the jackpot winner, another ticket sold Ohio won $1 million by matching the five white balls; a Match 5 winning ticket was also sold in California.

“It is the eighth Mega Millions jackpot won this year. The jackpot had been rolling since it was last won in New York on September 11 by a group of five friends from Yonkers, who shared $106 million. New York was home to two other jackpot winners this year, $126 million on February 27 and $58 million on March 24. Illinois winners claimed two jackpots in 2015, $265 million on January 16 and $262 million on June 2. A player from Missouri won a $25 million jackpot on July 31, and a Virginia man, who bought his ticket in Pennsylvania, won $153 million on July 21.”
