Leonardo DiCaprio has lost the Best Actor Oscar four times, including for his last movie with Martin Scorsese, The Wolf of Wall Street, and he is reportedly determined not to let it happen again. According to the latest gossip news updates, The Revenant star sees Black Mass' Johnny Depp as a direct threat to his chances at taking home top prize at the next Academy Awards and is stirring up talk of all Jack Sparrow's recent bombs in order to affect the vote. In a related story, Johnny Depp is openly supporting his daughter, Lily Rose's decision to come out as sexually fluid.
In interviews promoting the film, Leonardo DiCaprio has recalled the hellacious conditions he endured in the making of The Revenant -- seemingly to increasing his overall chances of finally walking away with the next Best Actor Oscar.
One source in the latest November 30, issue of Star magazine claims that in addition to hyping his own project, Leo has been talking smack about Johnny Depp's recent run of box-office misses when meeting with his fellow Academy members behind the scenes:
"Leo is so hungry for an Oscar that he can practically taste it. He sees Johnny as his only real competition.
"Leo has been trashing Johnny's flops, like The Lone Ranger and Mordecai.
"This goes all the way back to when they both starred in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, which Leo feels he carried."
While Johnny Depp says that he has no interest in ever winning an Oscar, for Black Mass or any other movie, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor has no problem standing proudly behind his daughter's decision to come out as sexually fluid.
Depp told the Daily Mail that although the news came as a surprise to her fans, he and Lily Rose have never had any secrets (via Us Weekly):
"She's got thousands of followers on social media, and they were all taken completely by surprise.
"But not me. I already knew because she tells me everything. She's not afraid to say anything to me.
"We're super tight and I'm very proud of our relationship."
