Suicide Squad is one of the most talked about movies coming up, and Will Smith revealed that part of the plot includes a love triangle. Here's more info on these rumors.
What's a good movie without a bit of a love-story? Or in this case, some sort of psycho-drama between various bomb-implanted sociopaths under duress trying to save the world? Considering that the characters involved have a decent chance at dying each mission they are sent on, it should be interesting to see how love blossoms in a toxic waste sludge pool.
Will Smith has revealed that there will be a love triangle of sorts between his character, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and the Joker. How exactly this is going to be arranged hasn't yet been leaked, but according to director David Ayer, "It's [the movie] about her breaking free of The Joker and becoming this fully actualised, independent person. That really is a metaphor for everyone's journey here." Aw, how sweet. Let's force-feed some character development into a bunch of psychopaths so the murderous villains of eons past are turned into tragically misunderstood anti-heroes. Blegh. I'm looking forward to the movie, but it's probably going to push me further down the path to becoming an evil super villain in my own right just to show people that some villains like being evil. They aren't just misunderstood.
The love triangle, while coming as a surprise to those who aren't very familiar with the Harley Quinn lore, is actually part of canon. "Deadshot and Harley have actually been paired several times in animated movies and in the comic books. At one point, Deadshot even went as far as killing himself so Harley can keep living." Will Smith described the relationship these two have as "a pretty ragged romantic triangle."
So what do you think about the Deadshot/HQ matchup? Good? Bad? Joker and Harley forever? Tell us you opinion in the comments section below!
