Country-pop darling, Taylor Swift, made her name (and arguably her career) out of the shells of her former relationships. The artist's long list of ex-boyfriends is only matched by the number of hits they have inspired. Each new break up tops the Billboard charts. Her well known beau's, such as John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner, Joe Jonas and Harry Styles of One Direction, keep fans glued to each new telling tune. Despite finding success in heartache, the "22" singer says she resents her reputation as a dating diva.
Lets face it, Taylor Swift loves to kiss and tell. Her thinly veiled references to ex-boyfriends come equipped with identifying hints in the liner notes. Now the 23-year-old artist is claiming her dating history is all being used by the man to keep her down. Swift told all in a recent interview with Glamour UK:
“The way it works...is if you reach a point in your career where things are going very well, public perception needs a ‘Yeah, but. Like, Yeah, but she’s been on a lot of dates, apparently.’ ‘Yeah, but I hear she’s crazy.’ I think you’ll find it has a lot to do with being a woman. And I resent that, that there has to be some downside to your personality or lifestyle if you’re a woman and successful. You can’t say, ‘I’m never gonna date a high-profile person in the arts! But whoever I date, famous or not—whether I ever date again!—all chaos will break loose. With fabrication and frantic obsession and who likes who more and how it ended. But right now is easy because I’m single and happy, and it’s very relaxing.”
