October equals The Walking Dead. The hit AMC zombie apocalypse drama rises every fall to feast on the brains of millions of viewers. Recently, the network announced plans for a Walking Dead spin-off show. Now the newest web series, The Oath, ties into season one with a three-part prequel, just in time for Season 4.
If you are one of those people who can't get enough of The Walking Dead, then AMC has just the thing for you. You can gear up for the Season 4 premiere with a brand new three-part-prequel web series on AMC.com.
The webisodes tie in with events from the first season and tell the story of two previously unseen survivors. The official synopses on AMC.com reads:
"AMC’s award-winning The Walking Dead webisode series returns to amc.com today with three new installments. The Walking Dead: The Oath tells the story of the lone survivors of a massive walker-attack, Paul (Wyatt Russell, Cowboys and Aliens) and Karina (Ashley Bell, The Last Exorcism), who speed across the countryside, frantically searching for an aid-station as one of them slowly bleeds out from a wound. Finally coming upon a hospital that has not been overrun at first feels like a blessing, but could soon turn to misfortune, as a seemingly benevolent doctor (Ellen Greene, Little Shop of Horrors) may hide a darker agenda."
AMC also took time to break down the upcoming fourth season:
"In this highly anticipated new season, we see Rick and the group of survivors fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Sadly, in this brutal world, happiness is short-lived and walkers and outside threats are no match for danger brewing inside the fences. The group;s home and new way of life will be thoroughly tested, and their struggle to survive has never been so perilous. Season 4 also introduces several new characters including Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr., The Wire)."
The Oath is available now online at amc.com. The new season of the Walking Dead begins Sunday, October 13 at 9pm.
