Ever since Fetty Wap debuted his hit song "Trap Queen," Twitter has been inundated with questions regarding what happened to the rapper's left eye. We have that answer for you, as well as why the "Jimmy Choo" artist was recently spotted in a wheelchair at Chipotle. His legs may not be fully recovered, but Mr. Wap seemed in good spirits as he was ordered a burrito at the hit restaurant chain.
Fetty Wap is no stranger to success. His sleeper hit "Trap Queen" reached the number 1 position on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart with virtually no promotion. However, the 24-year-old rapper has also had his share of hardships as well.
That is perhaps most evident when it comes to the rapper's left eye, which he lost as a small child. According to MTV News, Mr. Wap suffered from a rare disease that primarily affects children. Fetty confirmed this during an interview on Sirius XM:
"'When I was little...I had got into an accident and it gave me congenital glaucoma in both of my eyes,' Fetty explained to DJ Self when he appeared on his VIP Saurdays Sirius XM radio show back in February. 'The doctor saved one, so I was blessed to still have my vision'...According to WebMD, primary congenital glaucoma is a rare eye disease that affects one in every 10,000 infants."
Of course, this isn't the only hardship that Mr. Wap has been forced to endure. Fetty was recently involved in a very serious automobile accident.
On September 26, Mr. Wap was involved in a serious head-on collision. While allegedly trying to pass another vehicle on his motorcycle, Fetty failed to see a second vehicle coming in the opposite direction.
Fetty is stable and reportedly recovering quickly, however, the rapper is not yet back in peak condition. That was evident this weekend, when Mr. Wap made an appearance at Chipotle.
Presently unable to walk on his own, Fetty is confined to using a wheelchair. But, as TMZ tells readers, that didn't stop him from ordering the burrito of his dreams: "Fetty Wap isn't letting his busted leg stop him from wheelin' through the burrito assembly line at a Chipotle...Fetty got a new 2-wheeler after his nasty motorcycle spill -- and he showed off his wheelchair skills while grabbing lunch Monday in New Jersey...His broken leg forced FW to cancel a bunch of shows, but he's vowing to be back on his feet sooner than later."
News that Fetty is recovering has many fans relieved. This is perhaps most true of 10-year-old Jayden Burgos, who credits Fetty with helping him face the world with only one eye.
In an exclusive interview with People, the brave boy explained that it was Fetty Wap who gave him the courage to remove his prosthetic eye. The decision, Mr. Burgos claims, has his fellow classmates calling him Fetty - just like his hero.
What do you think of the latest reports? Are you happy to see Fetty make a speedy recovery?
