Harry Potter Rumors: 'Fantastic Beasts' Plot Teasers

It's been a few years since we've had a movie from J.K. Rowling's wizardly world of Harry Potter, but according to the rumors, Fantastic Beasts plot teasers are out!

And from what I can tell, it's going to be even better than what was originally expected. Warner Brothers' original idea was to make a sort of faux-documentary about the legendary magizoologist Newt Scamander from J.K. Rowlings' 2001 Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. However, "J.K. Rowling herself came onboard to write a screenplay for the film instead, however, almost certainly making it more interesting and likely to pull Potterphiles out in droves to see it." Considering she how well she's done with the series so far, I'm certainly cheering for Rowling with this screenplay. I don't doubt it will be a box-office success. It's Harry Potter. It's written by Rowling. That alone will pack theatres, especially if they aim for a non-Halloween release so all the fans have another excuse to pull out their Harry Potter or Hermione costumes.

While the "plot of the film has been kept ultra secret, with the cast under an Unbreakable Vow to not reveal any details," here is what the story of Fantastic Beasts boils down to. Newt Scamander travels to New York City in with an old magical case of some sort. "Given that the case contains full habitats for endangered magical creatures in a very Doctor Who sort of way, we can assume that Scamander is in the Big Apple seeking out a fantastic beast. Once there, he learns that the U.S. wizarding community is extremely careful to hide from the "No-Maj" - which is what Muggles are called in the States during the 1920s." No doubt part of the escapades will include dangerous magical creatures escaping from the case that must be recaptured, all while hiding from the anti-magic Americans.

Sounds interesting. I'm in! So what do you think about the latest iteration of the Harry Potter world? And do we need to find a better name for it considering it's no long just about Harry?
