'21' Singer Taylor Swift Bashes Ex-Boyfriend Harry Styles' Band One Direction's Fans

Taylor Swift is known for her highly successful hit songs like, "You Belong With Me," "Dear John," "21," and many more. Still, the pop-country star is perhaps just as famous for her long line of celebrity boyfriends including her relationships with: John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner, Joe Jonas and One Direction's Harry Styles. While most of Swift's break up songs are greeted with sympathy and accompanied with a gold record, sometimes fans of her more high- profile beau's don't take too kindly to Swift moving in on their teen heartthrobs. Now Swift is speaking out against crazed fans.

One Direction fans can be relentless. In fact, one crazed fan even claimed to have killed her own dog in order to get the band to follow her on Twitter. Not only are these young girls writing their favorite band members names all over their notebooks, they are busy trashing Taylor Swift's name on the internet. In a recent interview with Glamour magazine, the country queen took it the tweens:

"I never read one hateful thing said about me by some 12 year old. So I got to live an actual life. And I’ve kept that mentality. Just because there’s a hurricane going on around you doesn’t mean you have to open the window and look at it. You can be obsessed with the bad things people say and the good things, either way you’re obsessed with yourself and I’m not – you can become unhinged so easily. Vanity can apply to both insecurity and egotism. So I distance myself, because I feel everything. The little I am exposed to hurts my feelings. The only things I can really control are my songs and my behaviour. The rest? If I focused on it, that would lead to insanity."

She also went on to segue the conversation to what seems like an attack on Miley Cyrus, albeit in her favorite method of attack, thinly veiled:

"There’s room for role models who make mistakes. There’s clearly room for role models who are made fun of at award shows, not that I necessarily enjoy being poked fun at! But that’s gonna happen to them too. Whether in a board meeting or in school or on Facebook, where they’ll get humiliated publicly. And if I can say, 'Yeah, I’ve taken a few hits over the years and I’m still going, I’m still happy!', maybe that’s an example. It’s not just about standing on top of the mountain with the wind blowing in your hair, looking fabulous."
