Sandra Bullock Gets Melissa McCarthy Thin for ‘Ocean's 11’?

Although Melissa McCarthy often uses her plus-sized frame to great comedic affect in her roles, Sandra Bullock reportedly has a plan to get her Heat costar's BMI back on track. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Our Brand is Crisis beauty was recently able to convince the Ghostbusters star to drop 25-pounds. Word has it that the weight loss has done so much for McCarthy's confidence that she is now determined to drop anther 25 before 2016. While Melissa's size often lent itself to playing the comedic foil in a film, perhaps a new shapely McCarthy will find herself cast as Brad Pitt to Sandra's George Clooney in her new, all-female Ocean's 11 reboot.

While Bridesmaid actress Melissa McCarthy has often used her size to help her elevate the comedic value of whatever role she happens to be playing, the Mike & Molly star is said to be doing her best to slim down before New Year's.

One source in the latest November 9, issue of Star magazine claims that it was actually Sandra Bullock who ultimately convinced her new bestie that she needed to do something about her health before it was too late:

"Six months ago, Sandra sat Mel down and explained that if she kept gaining weight, she wouldn't see her daughter's grow up.

"That was real wake up call for Melissa, and she decided to overhaul her entire diet and started doing Pilates and aerobics."

According to the tabloid's insider, once Mel started getting even more positive feedback at home, she decided that she wouldn't stop until she lost a total 50-pounds before 2016:

"[Her husband] Ben can't keep his hands off her.

"Now Melissa is determined to lose another 25-pounds before the New Year!"

Hopefully, if McCarthy gets herself in fighting shape soon enough, Sandy can find her a spot on her new Ocean's Eleven remake.

The idea for a new all-female Ocean's, reports the Playlist, came from the exact same brain trust that ultimately put together the original remake way back in 2001:

"The project was initiated last year by the power trio of late producer Jerry Weintraub, Ocean's trilogy director Steven Soderbergh, and the franchise's main star, Clooney.

"Olivia Milch, who has become a go-to screenwriter for female-centric projects, has been working on the screenplay for months.

"It's due to feature an all-female line-up, with Bullock in the lead, and Gary Ross (The Hunger Games, Seabiscuit, Pleasantville) directing."

What do you think about the idea of a thinner, faster, stronger Melissa McCarthy possible joining the new Ocean's 11 cast?

Is it about time someone gave the comedy titan a more serious role to sink her teeth in to while her star is still hot?

Or, should McCarthy just stick to what she's proven to be good at?

Let us hear what you have to say about it in the comment field below.
