Country star Jason Aldean is about to make his big screen debut in Sweetwater. The singer turned actor stars in the revenge western, together with Mad Men's January Jones and the acclaimed Ed Harris. A new trailer was just released for the film that is set to open on October 11th.
Jason Aldean, best known for his hit country songs, "Night Train," "1994," and "The Only Way I Know," is about to be a movie star. His debut feature film will be Sweetwater, a revenge western staring January Jones and Ed Harris.
The film's official synopses as posted on it's IMDB, reads:
"In the late 1800's, a beautiful former prostitute (January Jones: "Mad Men") is trying to build an honest life with her husband in the rugged plains of New Mexico. When she catches the eye of a sadistic and powerful religious leader (Jason Isaacs: Harry Potter series), her life is violently turned upside down. She embarks on a bloody course of vengeance with the assistance of a renegade sheriff (Ed Harris: Pollock, The Hours, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) who has pretty violent tendencies of his own."
Aldean plays Daniel, a supporting role, however, he does share top billing in the film's trailer.
Aldean has been getting his own type of revenge against Zack Brown for his controversial criticism about the state of country music, in particular, Aldean's good buddy, Luke Bryan.
After already voicing his disapproval once, in a recent interview with Province in Canada, Aldean took a second shot at the singer:
“Look, as an artist you’re not going to like everything every other artist does. There’s certain artists I really like what they do and certain artists I’m not that big of a fan. But I’m not publicly going to go out and trash ’em. I know Zac, I don’t have anything against the guy, he’s always been cool to me, but I didn’t like that. And of course Luke’s one of my best friends and it rubbed me wrong. You don’t have to go out and say those things. I don’t agree with any artist bashing another artist"
The film, also known as Sweet Vengeance, opens on October 11th.
