In an interview with the web site Mid-Day, Salman Khan tackled a wide range of subjects, from how his 2002 hit and run conviction affected his work, to the pain he is having to endure on his new film Sultan, to the fact that he will soon be turning 50. Khan seems more at peace than ever. Might his newfound happiness have anything to do with his rumored engagement to Luila Vantur?
It's been a turbulent last few years for the star, but he seems to be finally getting to a better place in his career and life. Over the summer, his movie, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, was a mega-success. Khan, however, was still plagued by his five-year manslaughter conviction being upheld and the resulting appeal. About his 50th birthday, Khan had this to say, via Midday, "I don't think turning 50 is a big deal and so, I have no plans for any celebrations. In fact, we have to work harder for our fans to have a memorable time at the movies. The pain this side is directly proportional to the enjoyment on the other side. And if you endure the pain on the sets, your fans will strive to take their lives a notch higher and be better human beings."
Clearly, age is catching up with Salman Khan, though he remains forever defiant. From the same article, when asked about his health, Salman replied, "Good, but since I am training for Sultan, it's getting a bit painful. The prep-up involves a lot of physical exertion, so something or the other keeps hurting everyday. But I am enjoying it all. Don't worry, I won't let my fans down."
As for his rumored engagement, Khan's sister came out on Twitter to dispel the rumors. According to Business of Cinema, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan's little sister, Arpita Khan Sharma, took to her twitter handle to say "rubbish" to all the rumours. She tweeted saying, 'Do not believe everything you read in the papers or on different web sites online.'"
