Lindsay Lohan's dad may be the one who drove her to drugs. Michael Lohan recently took the blame for his daughter's issues with drugs and alcohol.
Michael Lohan recently spoke to TMZ about the orgins of his family's issues:
"I think because of [my and Dina's] divorce and what happened, Lindsay was put in a horrible position."
However, thanks to her mother's recently arrested, Lindsay seems to think that substance abuse is in her blood. An insider reported toOk! Magazine:
"Lindsay now thinks that she's genetically doomed to self-destruct."
Dina Lohan went before Judge Joy Watson on Tuesday to answer for her severe drunk driving charges. Lohan entered a not guilty plea and was released without bail, however, Judge Watson did take her driver's license. Lohan has to return to court on October 23. Her counsel, Mark Heller, made a statement to the press:
"Dina Logan is painfully mindful of the gravity of her arrest for driving while intoxicated. I am confident that the district attorney's office and the judicial system will temper justice with mercy."
New York state police pulled over the matriarch in Long Island earlier in the month driving 77 mph in a 55 mph zone. She was subsequently given a sobriety test that she failed in a pretty epic kind of way.
A blood alcohol test showed that Lohan was over twice the legal limit with an impressive .20.The hammered mother was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated. Dina was taken to the local station for processing and then released to a responsible third party.
Dina Lohan has apparently taken on the mantle of "family trouble maker" in the wake of her daughter's seemingly sincere attempts to turn her life around after being released from rehab back in August.
Lindsay had her own well-publicized issues with substance abuse. The former Disney star was, herself, arrested for a string of DUI's, starting back in 2007. Lilo was court-ordered to undergo treatment earlier this year for a 2012 arrest.
