Watch: Top 7 Scariest Horror Movie Death Scenes for Halloween 2015

With all of the ghouls and goblins waiting to enact their chaos on the world this Halloween, we take a moment to reflect on the best part about Halloween, the Horror Movies. Here is the Top 7 Horror Death Scenes!

This is a time for celebration. Growing up, you have many different types of films that affect the emotional center of your brain. Comedy films make you laugh, drama films can make you cry, inspirational films beg you to make a difference, but during Halloween the Horror film is celebrated, bringing terror and fear with plenty of gore and blood.

Horror is an ever evolving genre, with each decade taking a different approach to it. We are now in the era of gore horror and now that horror has taken an international stage, we are getting creative stories, and even more creative deaths.

There are many ways to take this list. Do I just pick horror scenes with gore, guts, and tons of blood? What if I choose scenes that keep you in such a traumatic state of suspense that they freak you out? Well enough chatter, let's get to the best part, This is my list of the Top 7 Scariest Horror Scenes.

7. Rest Stop: Dead Ahead (2006) - 2 Bullets

There is something great about Horror films. When you think they have gone a bit too far, the go just a bit farther. This is exactly what number 7 on this list does for me. This movie is not the greatest, but this scene hits my 'oh, crap' factor on 10. It could be the bad acting, or even the off-color fake blood, but it definitely is because Joey Lawrence is in bad shape and he wants to be shot with one of the two remaining bullets in his gun. Too bad his partner in horror is a bad shot. When she finally gets up the nerve to mercy-kill him, she fails miserably, leaving poor Joey begging for the final bullet, so that she can finish the job.

6. Cabin in the Woods (2012) - Monsters Scene

How do you even begin to classify a final scene this epic? Why should this list just settle with one kill in a scene? When a group of stoner high school students are trapped in a house of horrors, they must fight there way out. What better way to finish this fight, than to let every monster trapped in this infernal machine loose on their creators. Can this day get any better? I submit that it can! There are tons of monsters for every nightmarish desire, all with one thing in mind: KILL. Oh, what a lovely day!

5. Ghost Ship Opening Death Scene (2002) - Opening Scene

This is one of my favorite opening scenes of any horror film. This action is sudden and out of the control of anyone aboard the ship. Is it the ship that kills them? Who knows, but this scene has a very big Final Destination feel to it. There is only one way to top the actions of #6 on the list, and that is killing a lot of people with one quick action.

This group of merry-bringers were only wanting a nice night of wine, dancing, and some beautiful singing. Unfortunately, their night got cut a bit short. When a freak accident causes a cable to snap though the crowd cutting almost everyone in half. Sliced and diced, every party must end. This one does in wonderful fashion, in piles of blood and flesh slopped around the deck of the ship.

4. Suspira (1977) - Death Above the Skylight

Sometimes the best way to open a scene is to foreshadow the end at the beginning. This is one of the many elements that Dario Argento does right. He is one of the premier 'Giallo' filmmakers, mixing sex, violence, and art creating an amazing film. Suspira is a fantastically violent film, and considered to be one of the best Giallo films.

This scene is a great one. As one girl tries to leave the dance academy she sees haunted evil eyes. Unfortunately, these are the last eyes that she sees, before she is attacked by a murderer with a knife. This isn't enough for Argento. He beautifully sets up this scene and then makes sure that it has a flare for the dramatic, the artistic, and the maniacal. The scene ends with one girl impaled by stained glass on the floor, and another stabbed repeatedly and left hanging from the stained glass window above.

3. Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) - I'm Your Boyfriend Now, Nancy/ Tina's Death Scene

This one is a two for one. I couldn't decide which of these deaths were better. There is no doubt that A Nightmare on Elm Street belongs on this list. But which scene is better? I couldn't figure it out, so I gave you two.

The first scene is a lovely gem. It is the first film that Johnny Depp ever did, and one of the best deaths he has ever had. Nancy is desperately trying to stay awake so that Freddy Krueger won't kill her. Unfortunately for her friends, they begin to drop like flies as soon as all of the caffeine starts to wear off. This is not a good time for Johnny, Freddy turns him into a blood geyser. His folks are going to have a hard time cleaning up that mess!

Tina's death is one scene that holds a special place in the hearts of all Nightmare on Elm Street fans. Tin's death scene is epic, and a PSA for the permiscuous youth. The message here, "Don't ever have underage sex. Ever. Or Freddy will get you." Poor Tina found out the hard way. She had a little bit of bedroom play with her boyfriend, and then she had a little Freddy play. Freddy decided to gut her and then drag her across the walls and the ceiling. That is one drag of a day.

2. Alien (1979) - Chestburster Scene

One of the most pivotal horror movies of all time, Alien put Ridley Scott's name on the map. Considered to be one of the top five science fiction movies of all time, and easily in the top five on everyone's horror list, Alien was revolutionary. In space can anyone hear you scream? I don't know, but with these Xenomorphs lurking around in the shadows, I don't think you will have time to scream.

Kane peeked a little too close at a facehugger, and got a little more than he bargained for. When the crew thought he was a goner, they were in for a shock when he showed up to breakfast right as rain. Kane didn't make it through breakfast, because something inside of him needed to get out. Enter the chest bursting Xenomorph! Blood covers the crew and out pops a mini Xenomorph, he is so cute. This scene is amazing, and is still one of the scariest moments that I have ever seen in film.

1. Hellraiser (1987) - Jesus Wept

This may not be the top choice for a lot of people, but Hellraiser holds a special place in my heart. This movie scared the hell out of me when I was younger, and most of the original reasons that I was petrified still hold true today. There is little in the way of horror that rings true more than the actual thought that Hell exists. Not only that, but some of the imagery that is mentioned in the film is just plain horrifying.

Frank should have never opened the puzzle box. He did, and his soul was taken to Hell by Pinhead and the Cenobites. But Frank found a way back, and he must have bodies to fully restore his health. Unfortunately, his stepdaughter opened the puzzle box as well, and the Cenobites are back to reclaim him for Hell.
