While Keith Urban was busy dropping his new number 1 record, 'Fuse,' earlier this month, a photographer was busy dropping his wife Nicole Kidman. Kidman was ran down by a photographer, who was racing down the sidewalk to catch a pic of the actress. Now, Urban has finally spoken out about the bike assault.
Earlier this month, a careless photographer on a bike slammed into actress Nicole Kidman, as she was about to enter the Carlyle Hotel in New York. Luckily, Kidman was not hurt, as she told the Associated Press after the incident:
"I'm up, I'm walking around, but I was shaken."
The two-wheeled assault was all captured on video. In the video, you can hear the photographer, who was laid on his back, take the full blame for the crash:
"I'm so sorry. I tried to break"
The assailant, later identified as free lance photographer Carl Wu, reportedly received three citations by police for: riding on a sidewalk, riding without a helmet and reckless endangerment. It is unclear if any further legal action will be taken, although Kidman allegedly said that she planned to press charges.
Now Kidman's husband, country superstar Keith Urban, is finally speaking out about the attack/crash. In an interview with Australian radio station 2 Day FM, Urban recalls the "harrowing" ordeal:
"She called me straight away...any husband can relate to that. So luckily she wasn't seriously injured. It's the Wild Wild West, man, the police are handling it and we just move on."
A similar incident happened to Urban back in 2007, when a photographer caused him to run his bike off the road but then managed to help the star without exploiting the injury. Urban released a statement to the press back then saying that the accident was "the result of one person's desire to do his job and my desire to maintain my privacy."
