Katy Perry and John Mayer have been dating for quite some time now. A new tabloid claims that the couple may be planning for a baby and a wedding in the near future. In this latest update, we’ll break down the rumors and see if there is any truth behind the tabloid’s allegations or if they are just trying to profit off of Russell Brand’s ex-wife.
This isn’t the first time that gossip magazines have claimed Katy and John are planning on tying the knot. While the couple have officially denied the rumors, several gossip sites have claimed that John has proposed to the “Roar” singer.
Whether or not she’s said “yes” seems to be in dispute. A recent Grazia article indicates that Perry denied his request. The magazine claims that Katy is still too upset with how her last marriage ended, quoting a source who said:
"John's proposal really unnerved Katy. Even though they have discussed it, she thought it was too soon. John was gutted. Katy loves John, but doesn't feel she has had enough healing time since her divorce. She told him she just needed a bit more time to feel whole in herself again. …John won't run from Katy again. He knows his bad-boy reputation and what happened with Russell hurt Katy, and he'll do whatever it takes to show he's the one she should marry."
There has also been a wave of reports that indicate Perry and Mayer may want to have children together. According to an OK! magazine article, a source thinks that the two will soon have kids:
“They’re both very busy with tours and new albums, but they want to start trying for a baby at the end of fall. The buzz among their friends is that John will ask her to marry him and day now, but he’s just waiting for the right moment. He told Katy straight out that he’s finally ready to settle down and he’s a hundred percent sure she’s the one.”
