George Zimmerman Crack Lawyers Want Big Money From The State of Florida

George Zimmerman's crack team of lawyers managed to get the killer acquitted for the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin and now they want the state of Florida to pay for it.

One of Zimmerman's attorneys, Mark O'Mara, who now works for CNN, is reportedly seeking payment from the state for their defense of Mr. Zimmerman. Florida law allows for acquitted defendants to seek refunds for cost acquired during their defense.

O'Mara clued CNN in on just how much money his firm will be seeking from the state:

"We're probably going to ask for somewhere between $200,000 and $300,000."

Although, O'Mara isn't hopeful that they will be granted the full amount:

"We're not going to get it. The case law here is quite limited. Even though we're going to ask for it, the amount that we'd most likely get is significantly less."

O'Mara added that the asking numbers were so high, in order to help cover the cost of expensive expert witnesses:

"We had to bring in four to five experts on the voice issue. That was as much as $75,000 to $100,000,"

He also went on to say that he has yet to receive any compensation for the case:

"I haven't gotten one penny in fees. I do have an agreement with George that if he comes into money, I would get paid."

O'Mara may get a chance to get back some of his cost as he is representing Zimmerman in a defamation Lawsuit against NBC.

However, O'Mara will not be representing Zimmerman in his divorce and possible domestic disturbance cases. Zimmerman was nearly arrested earlier this month for alleged assault on his soon to be ex wife Shellie Zimmerman.

The initial 911 calls show that Shellie claimed her and her father were being threatened at gun point, however, she later retracted this claim and all charges were dropped for the time being. Police are looking into the incident further to decided if any new charges can be filed.
