The Kansas City Royals head to Canada to play the Toronto Blue Jays on foreign turf. The Royals will be starting Johnny Cueto at pitcher, and he will need to work hard to keep the Jays from scoring at home. The Jays really like their home runs when scoring points, and the Rogers Centre is a bit more favorable to home run hitting than Kauffman Stadium. On the plus side, even with away games coming up, the Royals do have a significant lead in the series. If they can focus down the home run scoring of the Royals and win at least one of these away games, their chances to take the championship are pretty good. However, due to home-field advantage and unremarkable pitching, it does not look like the Royals will win this game.
The Toronto Blue Jays finally get to go home after a pair of losses on the road. They will be looking to regain momentum and hopefully the series. They have to win four out of the next five games played if they want to go to the World Series. Being at home should help. As one analyst put it: "The Rogers Centre obviously helps matters. The Blue Jays posted a .485 slugging percentage at home this season, second only to the Coors Field-inspired Colorado Rockies (.489) among major league teams." If the Jays swing for the fences, it should definitely pay off well at home. Marcus Stroman will be starting on the mound tonight. It seems likely that the Blue Jays will win this game.
