The Alabama Crimson Tide head to face Texas A&M. The Alabama offense has been very rush heavy to set up the QB for strikes deeper into their opponent's side of the field, essentially: "Run the ball to set up play-action and try to beat the defense deep. To that end, the key to that equation becomes Derrick Henry's ability to set the tone at running back." Below is a comparion of the two teams' rushing yards over the last few years.
Alabama has a history of a strong ground game, and this will be key during the game against Texas A&M as the Aggies have proven to Arkansas at least that their rushing defense is spotty at best. In addition to a strong running game, continuing to have QB Jake Coker target WR Calvin Ridley may be key to varying up the attacks to throw off the Texas A&M defense.
The Texas A&M Aggies will need to focus very heavily on stop the Crimson Tide ground game. The major question for Texas A&M right now is: "Will the Aggies' run defense be good enough to help them win games against downhill running teams like Alabama and LSU? Linebacker health has been a concern for the Aggies, and Arkansas provided a blueprint for how to attack the Texas A&M defense by carving it up on the ground (232 rushing yards)." If the Aggies fail to stop the ground game, it will set them up for potentially large scoring differential.
With the way the Texas A&M Aggies have played defensively recently, it looks like the Alabama Crimson Tide may come out on top.
