A new TV teaser trailer for Thor: The Dark World was aired during Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D on Tuesday night. The extended look at the film featuring Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) gives fans a taste of of brand new action scenes to feast on, Including a fresh new look at Dr. Who's Christopher Eccleston as Malekith the Accursed.
For the most part the new trailer sticks pretty close to the script of the previous ones. However on closer inspection can you see great new information being packed into the TV spot.
We have all seen, the scenes of Thor's love interest, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) in Asgard, especially the ones of her slapping Loki across his smug face. Now it's revealed that Loki wasn't the only Asgardian prince that Foster was mad at. The new teaser shows her questioning why Thor didn't come see her during his return to earth to defend New York in the Avengers.
The Trailer also give us a few nice action scenes of Thor going Toe to Toe with Malekith. We see some of the action spill over to Midgaurd (Earth) where we get to see Thor deliver a sweet Hammer shot to the dark elves head.
Dr. Who's Christopher Eccleston plays Malekith the Accursed, ruler of the Dark Elves. It's Loki's insider knowledge of the new villain that makes him an essential part of team Thor. Hiddleston in a recent interview with Red Carpet News TV had this to say about working with Eccleston:
“Christopher Eccleston is one of Britain’s greatest actors, he brings a degree of commitment, intelligence, conviction and complexity to everything he does. I think he really got his teeth into this thing [playing Malekith]. It’s hard to say anything without giving away too much. Christopher has enormous presence, which is very distinguishable on stage as well as film. It’s one of those things you can’t really define, you just can’t stop watching him when he’s on screen. I think he’ll be absolutely magnetic [in the movie]. Malekith has his own ambition. Whether or not Loki can coincide with or contradict, subvert or enhance that ambition remains to be seen.”
