American Horror Story: Hotel is just two episodes in and we have already met one of the most brutal killers the series has ever seen. Long time AHS vet, Evan Peters (X-Men: Apocalypse’s Quicksilver) stars as Mr. March, the original owner and architect of the mysterious Hotel Cortez. Now, Peters is opening up about his most evil character and the horrific real life inspiration for the character, H.H. Holmes. Peters is also reflecting all of his AHS characters.
Evan Peters recently spoke to Variety about the real life horror inspiration for his delightfully twisted character, James March, H.H.Holmes:
“H. H. Holmes had a murder castle in Chicago in the late 1800s and Mr. March was born in the 1920s and ’30s, but there’s a lot of similarities. He’s definitely his own character, but there are definitely things derived from good old H. H. Holmes.”
March is not just own man, but a horror unrivaled in the Hotel, as Peters added:
“March is one of the first of his kind. He’s taught everyone what they know. It all comes from him, so they’re going to come up with something pretty intense for people to get introduced to Mr. March.”
Peters also spoke up about how March stacks up in comparison with his previous four AHS characters:
“I would say that they are different characters, but this one is incredibly different from those that I’ve played. He’s got a lot of external qualities and things. He’s just fun to play and he’s probably the most evil character that I’ve played in the series. He surpasses Tate in that area.”
