Rapper Drake honored fellow rapper/actor Jaden Smith by wearing a T-shirt with his face on it to the iHeartRadio Music Festival. This came a week after the son of alleged Scientologist, Will Smith, publicly bashed the education system on Twitter, telling fans to dropout.
The image Drake used was taken from Jaden's overly enthused reaction to Drake's MTV music awards performance. However, it is unclear if the rapper supports Smith's recent rantings.
Jaden Smith has recently taken to Twitter with a series of bizarre rants against the education system, starting with last Thursday's tweet: "School Is The Tool To Brainwash The Youth.'' Followed up by the statement, "Education Is Rebellion," and the even more bizarre, "If Newborn Babies Could Speak They Would Be The Most Intelligent Beings On Planet Earth.''
The young star's rantings didn't end with just a simple criticism of what no one would argue is a flawed system. He took it one step further urging his young fans to drop out of school:
"If Everybody In The World Dropped Out Of School We Would Have A Much More Intelligent Society."
The supposed role model has been the center of controversy before. Earlier this year, the young actor/rapper was seemingly seeking an emancipation from his celebrity parents Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. Jaden later downplayed this decision on the Ellen Degeneres Show, telling the host:
"See, here's the thing you need to explain: I'm not going anywhere. The thing that people don’t get is everything at his house—is free. So I can get anything and everything that I want at his house. So I think, I'm a be there for 20, 30 more years. But he says, as soon as I have a movie that's bigger than one of his movies, then I have to get my own house."
Since then the teen's tweets have gotten relatively tamer, but still a little bit on the weird side:
"Trees Are Never Sad Look At Them Every Once In Awhile They're Quite Beautiful.'
So what do you think of Drake's move? Was it all just a really good in-joke or was the rapper trying to send a deeper message of support for Smiths recent behavior. Let us know in the comments below.
