Things aren't looking good for Bill Nye on Dancing with the Stars. The Science Guy and his partner Tyne Stecklein scored the lowest during his first round on the competition but were spared from elimination, only to be injured immediately after. The question now is, will the hurt Nye be able to move on or has he danced his last?
A DWTS spokesperson released a statement regarding Nye's condition.
"We can confirm Bill Nye was injured during his performance last night and is currently seeking medical attention. We will continue to keep you posted on his progress."
Despite scoring the lowest last Monday, Nye and Stecklein were spared from elimination. Instead, Keyshawn Johnson & Sharna Burgess were sent packing after their lack luster samba. Nye's survival on the show most likely has a lot to do with his status as a fan favorite. His first performance became a viral hit on You Tube. During Monday night's dance, members of the group of geniuses, MENSA, were in attendance--wearing lab coats, cheering on Nye. Nye spoke with E! News last week about the overwhelming fan reception:
"I mean it's the cha cha with a guy in a lab coat. That was a great surprise, What it says to me that is we are the lowest judges scores by a fantastic factor, but what's keeping us in it is the show, so we are going to keep bringing the show!"
Dancing with the Stars has had it's fair share of injuries over the past 17 season. Olympic athlete Misty May-Treanor, Gilles Marini and Cristian de la Fuente all had to have surgery after on show injuries. Jersey Shore's Mike The Situation Sorrentino, credits his time on the show as the main reason for a crippiling drug addiction.
We here at Classicalite wish Mr. Nye all the best in recovery.
