If the Jays can't pull something magical out of their hats for this game, it will be the end of their post season run. The Jays starting pitcher is Marco Estrada, with an ERA or 3.13 for the regular season. He's got a significantly lower ERA than the the Rangers' pitcher, Martin Perez, so perhaps the Jay's stand a chance to prevent a sweep.
The Texas Rangers head home after a couple of away games against the Jays, leaving the Rangers ahead two games. Adrian Beltre is not on the starting line up, but according to Jeff Banister, the manager, Beltre is doing better and if he's feeling better then "I would have a decision to make whether or not we play him." Now with homefield advantage, the question is: "Can Martin Perez lead the Rangers to sweep the series?" Perez is far from the worst pitcher in the league this year, but neither does he stand out. With and ERA of 4.46 for the season, he does not stand out. If Perez can deliver a star performance, perhaps the Rangers can take this win and the series. If not, it's likely that the Jays will win their first game away from home.
