They say no man is an island and that goes for Andy Samberg too. The "Lonely Island" star has found his soul mate in musician Joanna Newsom. The two were married over the weekend making Samberg the second SNL Alumni to tie the knot recently, following behind the basically-already-gone, Seth Meyers.
Andy Samberg is a man smitten. The former Saturday Night Live star has been doting over Joanna Newsom for five years now. According to an unnamed US Weekly sorce:
"He liked her music and would go to her shows. He had the biggest crush on her."
The couple made it official Saturday at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, California.
In the September issue of Glamour magazine, the funny man famous for his Digital Shorts songs on SNL, talked about making beautiful music together with his new bride:
"We've talked about [collaborating.] But we've decided ultimately that her fans would probably kill me in my sleep," "What she does is so, like, actually beautiful and important."
The admiration train doesn't end with Sandberg. An anonymous source who is allegedly close to the couple, recently told US Weekly:
"She respects what he does with his songs. She's so proud of everything that he has accomplished."
The wedding comes less than a month after Samberg's former Saturday Night Live co-star Seth Meyers tied the knot with Alexi Ashe. Meyers is also going to be taking a cue from Samberg by leaving the show later this year to take over Jimmy Fallon's spot as the new host of Late Night. Fallon will be moving on to host The Tonight Show.
Samberg also has a new gig--his new Fox cop comedy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, premiered last week.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs Tuesdays on Fox.
