Princess Madeleine delighted fans worldwide by sharing a photo of her baby bump. The expecting royal posted her baby bump for all to see on Facebook.
Move over Princess Kate, there’s a new pregnant royal! Princess Madeleine made headlines around the world when she announced last month that she is expecting her very own prince or princess.
In case you’re not familiar with Madeleine, her royal title is Princess Madeleine of Sweden. Her pops is none other than King Carl Gustaf.
In fact, the photo of her belly bump wouldn’t have been possible without the King. The pic was, after all, taken outside of a party thrown for the monarch.
Madeleine chose a rather nontraditional approach to share the photo with the masses. Instead of releasing it to various press channels, she chose to post it to her Facebook account. She also wrote, "It was a wonderful weekend with so many events to celebrate my father's 40 years on the throne!”
The royal family was celebrating the 40th anniversary of King Carl’s reign, when they stopped to take a family photo. Hello Magazine offered the following description of their attire:
“Madeleine, who announced her pregnancy at the beginning of the month, was picture-perfect in a floor-length emerald green gown which showed just a hint of her blossoming baby bump...She teamed the dress with dazzling accessories and wore her hair in loose waves.”
Turns out Madeleine is quite the trooper and will continue her duties as princess (chiefly charitable works) for the entirety of 2013. A statement from the Royal Palace confirmed this:
"No changes to the schedule of Madeleine's engagements. Work for Childhood is planned during the fall of 2013."
