Ben Affleck's name has been bolstered around the internet an awful lot lately. Ever since the announcement last month that he will be playing Batman in the upcoming Batman vs Superman film, Batffleck has been the name on every ones lips. From outraged fans cursing the star's casting, to comic book icons coming out in support of him. Rumors of a possible divorce from his wife and Daredevil co-star Jennifer Garner have even began to resurface.
Love it or hate it, everyone is talking about Batffleck. Fan boys everywhere are torn over the casting. Even Comic icon Stan Lee got a word in when he spoke to the Wallstreet Journal:
“I’m one of the few people who think it’s a good idea,” he said. “Ben Affleck is a good actor, and a good director, and I think he’ll surprise a lot of people.”
As for his rumored divorce, Affleck's wife, Jennifer Garner recently came out in full support of her hubby, telling MTV news:
"I was excited because he had a real take on what he wanted to do. And you know, I have to say, my husband is a pretty great storyteller himself, and I'm excited to watch him do it."
Garner did, however, recently open up to Allure about her divorce to Scott Foley:
"Oh, he's a great guy. We were full-on grown-ups, but looking back I'm aware we did not know what hit us. We didn't have a shot."
Affleck, himself, has even had a few words to say about his casting, when talking recently with Jimmy Falon:
"The people from the studio were like 'We're thrilled... and listen we want to talk to you because people go through this process and it can be a little trying'. They said, 'We want to show you some of the reactions that past cast members have got on the internet'."
Affleck, however, isnt afraid of the Internet, adding:
"I'm a big boy. If I can handle an Emmy snub, I can handle anything. I handle s**t, you know what I mean - I'm very tough. So I saw the announcement, I look at the first comment and it's like, 'Ben Affleck is going to be Batman' and the first one goes, 'Noooooooo!'"
