Disney Schedule Shake Ups: Pixar Puts Off 'The Good Dinosaur,' "Finding Dory,'and Marvel's 'Antman'

There have recently been some major shake ups with Disney's upcoming 2014-2016 movie schedules. The stuido previously announced that it will be pushing back Pirates of the Caribbean V, and putting Marvel's Antman in it's place. Now the company is dealing with it's animation stuido Pixar, having to put of release dates for its forthcoming films, The Good Dinosaur and Finding Dory.

Disney announced last week that it was going to postpone the release of the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise, Dead Men Tell No Tales. The film was originally scheduled to open July 10, 2015 and will now be released sometime in 2016. Since then, it has been revealed that Disney is ending it's long running deal with Pirates producer Jerry Bruckheimer after 2014. However, Bruckheimer is expected to finish out the film.

Disney's focus going forward will be set on its other properties--Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar--although that doesn't leave any of them immune to schedule changes. Filling the hole left by Pirates, will be Marvel's Antman. Production of the superhero film has been rushed to Jul, 31 2015.

Pixar is also faceing some problems of its own. The studio's upcoming animated flick, The Good Dinosaur, is having to be pushed back from its orginal May 30, 2014 release date to Nov. 25, 2015. This will mean 2014 will be the first year in eight years that Pixar won't release a film.

The shift forces Finding Dory, the highly anticipated sequel to Finding Nemo, back to June 17, 2016. Dory's original release date was set for Nov. 25, 2015. Disney will move up production on its live action Maleficent to The Good Dinosaur's original date. Maleficent, stars Angelina Jolie as the title charter who is the villain from Sleeping Beauty.

If all this moving around has made you a little dizzy, then you are not alone. Still we can all rest easy knowing that Star Wars Episode Seven and Avengers: The Age of Ultron aren't going anywhere. Or so we pray.
